When we consider what makes a great apprentice, it tends to carry descriptors like “easy to instruct”, “curious”, “diligent”, and “reliable”. A good apprentice is someone who exudes all these traits and constantly goes above and beyond.
Working as an apprentice can be a tumultuous undertaking. You must admit you don’t know this trade, understand you will have to ask rudimentary questions of people far more skilled than you, and do it all while being as productive as humanly possible to meet sometimes-insane deadlines.
Apprentices are expected to truly hit the ground running. Sometimes it takes a little while for the confidence and experience to manifest, but other times it is clear from the outset that someone is absolutely meant for our trade.

Becoming and working in the electrical field as a Union apprentice is no joke. It requires rigorous accountability, a god-tier ability to take notes and ask questions, and the fortitude to be corrected time and time again to better trade skills you will need for the rest of your career.
