Apprentice of the Month - Miguel “Mikey” Bejar

Hard work and fortitude are paramount when it comes to being an electrical apprentice. Whether you’re learning your trade from the ground up or have experience and are fine-tuning your abilities through the apprenticeship, no apprentice can afford to rest on their laurels. It is with that approach we award Miguel “Mikey” Bejar apprentice of the month for June 2026.

“This apprenticeship means the world to me,” says Mikey. “It is very important to me and my family. It’s my life.”

When it comes to Mikey’s performance in the classroom, his instructor is quick to speak very highly of Mikey’s ability.

“He has a positive energy that is contagious,” says Brian Stauffer, Mikey’s fourth year teacher. “He is consistently a top student in my class and is quick to assist his peers in understanding course material. He has a bright future because of that work ethic and positive attitude.”

“The labs we do help me with my career,” says Mikey. “I like how intuitive the hands-on aspect is and it makes it easier for me to learn when I get to interact with the parts and pieces of our industry.”

In addition to exceling in the classroom, Mikey has also been given accolades from those with whom he works.

“Mikey is always willing to have fun but is also determined to put in the work and effort,” says Chase Kennedy, a journeyman who has worked with Mikey. “People like Mikey really shine the light on what it means to be a part of the Brotherhood.”

“Keep at it,” says Mikey when asked if he has advice for younger apprentices. “If things seem to get hard, keep going. It will get better.”

For his hard work, Mikey will receive a tool bag and hand tool from Milwaukee Tools and congratulations from the JATC and its staff.
