Milwaukee Tools Apprentice of The Month - Danny Albano

One of the most important values we as Union members must stress to the upcoming apprentices is involvement with our local. In addition to this, we also want to make sure apprentices are getting active and staying active throughout their apprenticeship. This month’s apprentice of the month embodies those principles and has been a driving force in RENEW (Reach out and Engage the Next generation of Electrical Workers) since he was a CW.

Danny Albano is a fifth year who currently sits as recording secretary of RENEW and has been active with hosting fundraising events, including corn hole tournaments, poker tournaments, and bowling nights. He is also on the 340 basketball team and has helped with myriad events in the local, such as the annual crab feed.

“A lot of camaraderie comes from being active in the local,” says Danny. “When I first came into RENEW when I was a CW, there were only about three people showing up. Now we have a consistent 15. That makes me happy to see more people getting and staying involved.”

“Danny has an incredible attitude and is always working to get more people involved in the local,” says Zac Goodman, second year instructor. “He is always working with the other leadership members of RENEW to come up with new and interesting ways to get apprentices involved in events that emphasize unity. He’s easily one of the most active and enthusiastic Union members I’ve had the pleasure to know.”

Starting as a CW, Danny has had the view from both that role and now as an apprentice. In his fifth year, he makes it a point to encourage all apprentices to get involved with the local and to attend meetings.

“I would tell anyone coming up that they will get out what they put into the local,” says Danny when asked if he has advice for other apprentices. “You can show up to meetings or you can just show up to the job. But you will get back what you put into the Union.

For his hard work, Danny will receive a PACKOUT bag and hand tool from Milwaukee Tools and congratulations from all the staff at the Sacramento JATC.
