Continuing education opportunities for electricians.

These courses are open to members of IBEW Local 340, travelers working locally, and NECA members.

  • Classes will be at the Training Center or via Zoom (or similar).
  • You must register AT LEAST 1 week prior to the class dates chosen.
  • You must provide a valid email address in order for registration to be completed.
  • You will be sent an email confirmation once you have submitted your registration.
  • Information for connecting to a remote classroom will be sent to your email the week prior to class.

Instrumentation Introduction - Module 1

Intro to basic instrumentation topics. This is prerequisite info in order to be successful in the full, instructor-led course, consisting of Modules 2 and 3. It is not intended to be used as sole preparation for any type of accreditation exam.

This is an online course. We will send you the web information upon enrollment. After passing the course (75%), provide the completion summary to the JATC for entry onto your transcript & refund of your $25 deposit.

State Exam Prep Class

This is a self-paced course, with multiple practice quizzes of various number of questions. It is based on the current State Exam 2017 NEC code book.

This is an online (CANVAS) course. We will send you the web information upon enrollment.

(50)seats available for Journeyman (Inside Wireman) only. Seats will be filled based on the order in which completed applications are received. Upon proof of completion, the LMCC will issue you a $250 incentive check.

This is a free online course. No course deposit is required. You will receive an email from HSI to enroll in the course. After completing the course, provide the Training Center office with your completion certificate for entry onto your transcript.

Note: Classes are not held on the 1st Wednesday of each month to support attendance at the Union meeting.

*Pending exam courses are offered to help prepare to take the Local 340 “Inside Wireman’s exam”. (Enrollment is open to all, but priority will be given to those with a pending exam.)

**Prerequisite courses are required to be completed prior to signing up for these classes.

AutoCad and Welding classes are available through American River College. The JATC Trust will reimburse the cost for tuition and actual book fees (not to exceed $300) for completing (C or better) the class. The member must submit receipts for tuition and books.
