All electricians working for a C-10 electrical contractor must be certified by the state of California. To work as an electrician, you must be one of the following:
• Journeyman electrician
certified by having passed the state exam.
• Apprentice electrician indentured in a state-approved apprenticeship.
• Electrician trainee enrolled in an electrician trainee program within a state approved school.
• The Sacramento IBEW/NECA Electrical Training Center
(SETC) is an approved school (#105) in partnership with American River College
(ARC).
• Attending a trainee class is mandatory by state law. Failure to attend class will void eligibility to work within the state.

Fill out Application for NEW Registration of Electrician Trainee (Form DAS-ECF4)
A. Fill out your name on
the application EXACTLY as it is listed on your driver's license. Make sure to include all the digits in your driver's license # and fill out your date of birth.
B. Fill out the drivers license number and state, birthday and mailing address correctly. Please keep in mind that this is where you will receive information from DAS.
C. Skip the boxes marked
[Optional] and Company information.
D. Enter American River College/IBEW Sacramento for Approved School Name and 105 as the approved school number if you have registered to take a class there.
E. You must attach a $25
check or money order to your application payable to DIR-Electrician
Certification Fund.

Fill out Application for Enrollment to Los Rios Community College District.
Note: If you were enrolled last semester as a student at Los Rios Community College or American River Community College
(ARC), you can skip this step.
Walk-in Option:
•
Complete the 6-page application included in this kit.
• A “code sheet” for use on the application form is also included.
• If you plan to register in person for one of the trainee classes, then drop off your application form at the same time at:
• American River College, 4700 College Oak Dr., OR
• ARC’s Natomas Center, Del Paso Road & Natomas Blvd

Online Option:

- Pick a class from the semester schedule shown below and fill-out the ARC Registration Worksheet
- Register for the class and
obtain a receipt for proof of enrollment to attach to the Application in
Step 1.
